چکیده

Depletion of groundwater aquifers along with all the associated quality and quantity problems which affect profitability direct agricultural urban users linked groundwater-ecosystems have been recognized globally. During recent years, attention has devoted to land subsidence—the loss elevation that occurs in areas certain geological characteristics aquifer exploitation. Despite large socioeconomic impacts subsidence most these effects are still not well analyzed properly quantified In this paper we developed a impact extent (LSIE) index is based on 10 attributes, applied it 113 sites located around world reported effects. We used statistical means map physical, human, policy variables regions affected by their index. Our main findings suggest LSIE increases between 0.1 6.5% changes natural processes, regulatory interventions, usage, while holding other unchanged. Effectiveness interventions varies depending lithology system, particular its stiffness. also developing countries more prone due lower performance existing water governance institutions. • Land (LS) substantial. LS accounted for, neither nor economically valued. Subsidence Impact Extent comparing across sites. use LSIE. Lithology, excess usage

Accuracy Assessment of GLM and FDA Models for Land Subsidence Susceptibility Mapping in Semnan Plain

The mechanism of land subsidence and soil deformation is the dissipation of the excess pore water pressure and the compaction of the soil skeleton under the effect of natural or man-made factors. Land subsidence has occurred in more of 300 plains of Iran, and Semnan Plain is one of the most important areas that face to this phenomenon. The aim of current research was land subsidence susceptibil...

Monitoring of Recent Land Subsidence and Ground Fissures in Xian with Sar Interferometry

The City of Xian, China, has been experiencing significant land subsidence and ground fissure activities since 1960s that have brought various severe geohazards including damages to buildings, bridges and other facilities. Monitoring of land subsidence and ground fissure activities can provide useful information for assessing the extent of, and mitigating such geohazards. We study the land subs...

Land subsidence, Ground Fissures and Buried Faults: InSAR Monitoring of Ciudad Guzmán (Jalisco, Mexico)

We study land subsidence processes and the associated ground fissuring, affecting an active graben filled by thick unconsolidated deposits by means of InSAR techniques and fieldwork. On 21 September 2012, Ciudad Guzmán (Jalisco, Mexico) was struck by ground fissures of about 1.5 km of length, causing the deformation of the roads and the propagation of fissures in adjacent buildings. The field s...
